BUILT FOR ADVENTURE! (A guest blog by @rocking_roaming INSTAGRAM)

"Back in 2023, we acquired our VW Caddy in its original white with lowered suspension, burst intercooler and of course a little bit of rust but she was now ours. Armed with loads of ideas and a clear vision in mind, we set out to transform the van to meet our exact specifications!

After undergoing mechanical repairs and restoring it to standard suspension, we focused on its exterior. Our aim was to achieve the ultimate off-road look. We wrapped the van in military green, fitted it with all-terrain tyres, and added various styling accessories such as a ladder, external sun visor, wide arches, side rails, bull bar, and external molle panels. Once satisfied with the exterior modifications, we turned our attention to planning the interior conversion.

Initially uncertain about the interior design, we came across The Ply Guys who were highly recommended on Instagram. After a thorough discussion with Hamish who provided valuable insights and suggestions, we finalised our design ideas and our install appointment was booked!

The big day arrived and we were greeted warmly by Hamish and the team, albeit Ritchie's questionable shirt choice! They took time to go over the build with us and after entrusting them with our van, we returned at 4pm filled with anticipation.

We were not disapointed! We were astounded by the meticulous attention to detail and the impeccable quality of the transformation. From a versatile seating area that converts into a full-size bed finished with Harris tweed upholstery and cushions, to a raised kitchen area and with loads of storage options, every aspect surpassed our expectations. The ply walls engraved with topography lines added a touch of elegance, along with a personalizsed detail from Hamish. Our van now holds endless possibilities, thanks to the expertise of The Ply Guys. Without their skill and dedication, our adventures wouldn't be the same.

Needless to say we're now hooked on van life and we've stumbled upon some seriously cool spots along the way! Picture this: a little hideaway up in Glenclova where there's zero signal but loads of jaw-dropping scenery. It's like stepping into a postcard! Our absolute favorite camping spot is The Red Squirrel Campsite in Glencoe! Tucked snugly under those dramatic peaks, it's like camping in a fairy tale. And let's not forget the journey there—it's like something out of a movie!

But the best part: we've found this awesome crew of like-minded adventurers through TentBox (I'm an ambassador so any tentbox question let me know! Might even have a discount code for anyone thinking of buying one) and the campervan scene. Almost every other weekend, we gather up with these folks and hit the road for some serious fun!

Now, as for our future plans, we've got big dreams of cruising through France, Norway, and Switzerland. But for now, we're sticking to our roots and rocking and roaming around bonnie Scotland. After all, there's no place like home, right?"
