UCI Mountain Bike Worldcup, Fort William

It's the first time the UK biking community has assembled on the slopes of Aonach Mòr since 2019 and the UCI World Cup was back and bigger than ever!
We took our Transit Custom Trail for a fun weekend of riding, beers, riding, more beers, some more riding and yeah... more beers!
After two years of no elite racing on the downhill at Fort Bill we were in for a treat. Typical Scottish weather in abundance, the excitement, nerves, fear and desire for all the riders were back in the Scottish highlands once again. Nina Hoffman produced the goods and smashed a blistering time down the rugged track and came in on top of the womens which was completely mega, an epic ride, taking the Santa Syndicate to the top of the podium.
Laurie Greenland, came third in the men's but was soooo close to first, just one small mistake and that's what made the difference. Greg Minnaar downhill legend and oldest rider on the circuit came in 7th, still up there with the best of the young guns of todays scene.
Special mentions to some belting rides from British riders Greg Williamson who smashed it into 14th, Matt Walker who just missed a podium in 4th, Danny Hart in 8th, and serious kudos to Ben Cathro, local-ish rider from up in the proper North with a superb run to take 24th. Also... nice to see that all isn't lost when you take a tumble, Kade Edwards slamming in some big air style to get the crowds cheering and making the most of the huge motorway jumps down to the finish line, 57th place, but dam it looked good!
